Dear 1st Grade Families,
Welcome to a new school year!
My name is Danita Molloy, and I am so excited to be your child’s 1st grade teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. First grade is such a special year filled with growth, independence, and so many exciting learning experiences.
I began teaching in Claremont Unified School District in 1997 and have taught grades 2–6. I earned my Bachelor’s degree from UC Riverside, my teaching credential from Cal Poly Pomona, and my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Grand Canyon University.
I also spent seven years as an Education Specialist supporting K–12 homeschooling families and the past three years as an Intervention Teacher. These experiences gave me extensive training in reading and math intervention and helped me learn how to support students with a wide range of strengths, needs, and learning styles.
Most of all, I love working with children. My goal is to create a classroom where students feel safe, valued, encouraged, and excited to learn. I balance kindness with clear expectations and want every child to grow in confidence as a reader, writer, mathematician, problem-solver, and friend.
Thank you for sharing your child with me this year. A strong partnership between home and school makes such a difference, and I look forward to working together to make first grade a happy and successful year.
