Birthdays are special, and we love celebrating our students!
To help keep celebrations fun, simple, and focused on learning, our school follows CUSD wellness and nutrition guidelines for classroom treats.Β
If you would like to send something for your child's birthday, please choose a healthy, school-approved snack such as:
Fresh fruit or fruit cups
Applesauce
Dried fruit or fruit leather
Low-fat yogurt
String cheese
Graham crackers
Goldfish crackers
Pretzels
Popcorn
Granola bars
Baked chips
100% fruit or frozen juice bars
Please avoid cupcakes, cake, brownies, cookies, candy, sugary drinks, soda, juice drinks, and foods containing nuts.
Non-food items are also a fun way to celebrate! Some approved ideas include:
Stickers
Erasers
Pencils
Crayons
Coloring books
To keep our classroom learning environment running smoothly, balloons, flowers, gifts, and other large birthday deliveries are not allowed in the classroom.
If your child is having a party outside of school, invitations should be distributed away from school unless every student in the class is invited.
Thank you for helping us make birthdays special while keeping our classroom healthy, inclusive, and ready for learning! π
